I am currently a doctoral candidate in Instructional Systems Technology, and a student in the MSEd in Educational Leadership program at Indiana University Bloomington. I work as an instructional consultant, teach undergraduate and graduate level technology education courses, and serve on the advisory board of the Jacobs Educator Award Program. I am passionate about student-centered learning environments and want to work with others to create a new vision of school.
Prior to pursuing my PhD, I was an educator in the San Francisco Bay Area for over 10 years. I spent my first five years as an educator living and working in inner-city Oakland, California. I graduated from Herbert Kohl’s Center for Teaching Excellence and Social Justice at the University of San Francisco with a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in 2005. In 2007, I was named an Apple Distinguished Educator, in 2010 was awarded Outstanding Technology Teacher of the Year by the East Bay Computer Using Educators, and in 2014 selected as an Outstanding Associate Instructor by Indiana University School of Education.
